Zero Landfill / Waste Reduction

There’s an increasing awareness that everything you throw away has an impact. When material goes to a landfill it is lost forever. Not only is the material lost but all the energy that went into producing and transporting it are lost. We at Two C Pack have recognized this “cradle to grave” problem and are pledged to be part of the solution. As of 2008, Two C Pack is officially a zero-landfill company. Not one iota of our waste is buried in a landfill. Any waste we produce is hauled to a waste-to-energy plant and is used to generate electricity. Waste-to-energy plants generate enough electricity to supply over 3 million households. They also defer from landfills the waste of over 40 million people annually; a significant amount when you realize that each American produces over 1,600 lbs of trash per year! To promote a true “cradle to cradle” model we are working to reduce and eventually eliminate our waste completely. We have already made great strides in that area, reducing our 2010 waste by over 40%! To help us achieve our ultimate goal, we have partnered with the EPA’s Wastewise program, a voluntary program that assists organizations in eliminating costly municipal solid waste and select industrial wastes, benefiting their bottom line and the environment.
